Services the Physical Capacity ProfileŽ Testing System can do:

Physical Capacity Profile: The recording of a broad sampling of the many medical, strength and fitness factors that relate to an individual's physical capacity in order to perform the physical requirements of their job.

Simply Stated: The Physical Capacity Profile is a 28 point assessment of all the major muscle and joint groups in the body. The test usually takes a half an hour and also includes the completion of certain dynamic tasks to further assess a person's strength/ fitness. The entire test is standardized and the majority of the data collection is computerized. This eliminates discrimination and speculation when testing.

Return to Duty Testing: Many companies find it difficult to determine when to return an injured worker back to their job. They don't have any objective way to assess whether an employee is ready to safely return to their job duties. By completing a Physical Capacity Profile they are better able to determine when an employee has regained the physical capacity to complete their job.

Fit for Duty Testing: Assessing an aging workforce can be a difficult task. The Physical Capacity Profile can assist in objectively documenting various strengths and weaknesses of specific employees. This information can be utilized to establish individualized health and wellness programs.

Functional Capacity Evaluations: An FCE is used as a reliable standardized assessment that measures the individual's readiness to return to work following rehabilitation and reconditioning in the aftermath of injury or illness. Reports can be tailored to the specific criteria requested. Whether it is a full body, upper extremity or lower extremity evaluation, we provide a full report within 24 hours.

Benefits of Testing!  Companies spend considerable time and energy picking out the correct computer components for their businesses. Frequently Asked Questions

Why do we need testing?

Think about how much time and money companies spend making sure they have the best computers, machinery and other equipment. Post-hire testing allows you to assess whether the person hired for the job has the physical abilities and fitness level to do the job. It also protects you and your employee from all of the problems associated with injuries.

What types of companies use testing?

Any company that has physically demanding requirements. Testing is right for your company if you have employees experiencing sprains and strains on the job. Unfortunately, many companies wait until they have had a major injury to start looking into injury prevention. Why wait? Your company could test over 100 employees for less than the average cost of one work comp claim. Not to mention all of the costs you would save with decreased turnover, decreased lost time due to injuries and increased productivity.

Will our company doctor be receptive to this information?

Most likely, the information from one of our screens will be shared with your physician when it is a return to work screen. How is our testing different?

We use the Physical Capacity ProfileŽ testing system. Developed by an orthopedic surgeon, it is objective, computerized and based on years of medical research. Our testing system and procedures have been through several EEOC audits. Don't risk your company's reputation on post-hire tests that rely too heavily on a person's past medical history. A good post hire test assesses takes into account past medical history but bases its results on current performance. We are proud to let companies know our testing is ADA, EEOC and HIPAA compliant.

How does my company get started?

We always invite companies to the clinic to see exactly how our testing equipment works. Once the decision to test has been made it is a simple process. First, we need to assist you in updating the physical requirement section of your job descriptions. Second, begin testing. Once you have made the commitment to start building a healthier and safer workforce, the rest is easy.
